F O R M — D E N S I T Y generates rooms and places procedurally-generated versions of Sandra Selig's installation work mid-air within them. These digital versions are generated based on photos of the original work.

Sandra Selig's mid-air is a site-specific installation which "comprises differently sized styrofoam balls 'beaded' intermittently on lengths of clear nylon thread. Two sets of these 'strings', arranged in tubular compositions, span both the length and the breadth of the space, bisecting at approximate right angles." (GOMA description)

F O R M — D E N S I T Y re-interprets mid-air by generating rooms - new sites - and installing in these sites new versions of the work, generated based on photos of the original work. In this way, it can produce a massive number of possible versions of mid-air, each specific to its own digital site, but retaining a connection to the site-specificity of the original work through the photos it uses to generate each new version.
